Abstract
This ISCORE session is not the program that will completely dismantle machismo; however, it will serve as a catalyst for change. This program will provide participants with an opportunity to address machismo directly and candidly, naming the historical ideologies, behaviors, and cultural and societal norms associated with it. Moreover, gender inequities and attacks on reproductive choice are rooted in patriarchal practices, intersecting with machista behavior. This program will provide community members with an opportunity to discuss how we can begin taking steps to directly challenge/dismantle machismo within our own spaces, improving gender equity, supporting reproductive health initiatives, and ultimately leading to community-wide changes and influencing development.
