Abstract

What can PWIs intentionally do to enhance the academic and social success for black male students? This session will focus on a new program, the “Coalition of Black Male Students” at Iowa State University. The presenters will outline the development of the program, how and why it was started, the impact it has made at Iowa State, and the experiences of three of its members (panelists). This will be an interactive session where attendees will be able to learn more about the CBMS program and ask questions to panelists about how the attendees can better support Black male student success at Iowa State.
