Thermochromic Exothermic Cycling Wear (T.E.C.)
Abstract
T.E.C. (Thermochromic Exothermic Cycling wear) is a functional clothing that enables cyclists to actively cope with the outdoor temperature and safety problems through two core technologies, thermochromic and electric heating. The two core technologies are combined in 3-layer heating system which consists of main fabric (bottomlayer), heating film (mid layer), and thermochromic ink printed fabric (to player). When the wearer turns on the heating film, the temperature of the system rises and thermochromic prints (black prints on top layer) disappear. The heating function of T.E.C. not only enables the cyclists to overcome low temperature, but also reduce the possibility of accidents by maintaining body responsiveness. Fluorescent orange was chosen as a base color of thermochromic ink printed fabric to enhance the visibility of the cyclists from car drivers. T.E.C.is a new concept of sportswear that can encourage individual and outdoor sports activities in post COVID-19.
