Scarlet
- Kimberly A. Henderson (Oregon State University)
Abstract
Scarlet was designed to utilize both shiny and dull sides of a red, satin organza fabric. A subtle textural contrast as well as fabric versatility is achieved in this asymmetric design. The slender sheath has an empire line. An overskirt of matching fabric is attached to the sheath along the empire seam line. Seven wired pleats in the overskirt create a tail-like effect that present an asymmetric look in the back, flattering the design lines in the sheath front.
