Abstract

The intent of this design was to create a historically-inspired ensemble featuring a woman's coat that displayed both masculine and feminine features. Inspiration for the jacket is the line and silhouette of 1900's military jackets. Feminine details include contrasting embroidery on the collar and a hand-dyed peach and orange silk lining. The jacket is hand tailored and the corded buttonholes match the lining. Wide leg chenille pants and matching boat neck tank complete the ensemble.
