The Dress that Launched a Thousand Ships
- Carolyn Schactler (Central Washington University)
Abstract
A Greek influence is obvious in this spectacular, metallic, gold knit gown. The designer's goal was to create a gown using metalwork as part of the garment rather than as an accessory. The sterling silver decoration in the back was designed and created specifically for this gown. This is truly wearable art.
