Abstract

The Transformational Leadership Academy provides a college-level infrastructure to develop leaders who are inspirational, visionary, collaborative, and resourceful.  The goal of this cohort-based program is to bridge the gap between the classroom and the corporate boardroom through strategic, industry-aligned programming. The academy is founded on three pillars:  Learn, Lead, and Connect. Using a personalized approach students map their own leadership journey through networking, industry mentoring, workshops, book discussions, service learning, and numerous other points of engagement. Beyond the immediate benefits to students and industry, faculty also leverage the academy in their grantsmanship efforts, providing an innovative infrastructure for their research.

Keywords: leadership, professional development, mentoring
