Abstract

To support women of color’s leadership development in academia, it is necessary to examine the barriers they face, the leadership skills they possess and those that they would like to cultivate, as well as their current sources of mentoring support. This research explored these relationships and offers new dimensions of barriers and self-efficacy in women’s leadership to discover the differences in the women in leadership variables (i.e., barriers, self-efficacy, mentoring, resiliency, and spirituality) among different ethnic groups (i.e., AAPI, Black, White women). Results were employed to build a mentoring program to support women's leadership advancement at a university in the Southeastern U.S.
