Abstract

In recent years, the Bangladeshi fashion industry has faced challenges across various dynamics, emphasizing the need for certification programs. This study investigates the relationship between certifications in the Bangladeshi fashion sector and diverse firm resources, utilizing Barney's Resource-Based Theory (RBT) framework. A quantitative content analysis of 358 Bangladeshi fashion firm websites was conducted. The results were analyzed through descriptive statistics with Pearson correlation and chi-square tests to demonstrate a significant association of certifications on various firm resource categories under the RBT framework. Results indicate that certificates show positive correlations with different firm resources across small to medium-sized firms. This research contributes to understanding how certifications in the fashion industry impact a company's resources, providing valuable insights for stakeholders seeking long-term competitive advantages.
