Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Apparel Merchandising Professional Development Career Course: The Use Case of Quinncia Platform

Abstract

This study explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into an apparel merchandising professional development course, focusing on the Quinncia platform. AI, particularly in education, offers benefits such as efficiency and enhanced feedback mechanisms. With AI-driven features, Quinncia evaluates student resumes and mock virtual interviews, delivering detailed, personalized feedback. The study involved 76 students over two semesters, showing significant improvement in resume scores post-feedback. Mock interviews provided insights into communication, micro-expressions, and content delivery, increasing students' confidence. Results highlight the potential of AI tools to optimize feedback processes, freeing instructors to focus on personalized career coaching. This research supports AI's transformative role in education, preparing students for professional success and navigating applicant tracking systems effectively. Future research could compare placement outcomes between AI and instructor-led feedback approaches.
