Abstract

In response to a question about important factors in the selection of gloves, chemical resistance was the most frequent response and fit was next. However, it should be noted that the clicker system relies on choices provided by the researchers; there is no opportunity for write-in responses. An open-ended question might elicit a different set of responses. The present study was designed as a hybrid of a paper survey with open-ended items and an audience response study with multiple choice items to restrict possible answers in some cases and to let the respondents provide answers in their own words in others.
