Probability or Non-probability Samples: Testing Univariate Estimates vs Multivariate Relations
Abstract
In spite of the extensive use of non-representative, particularly student samples, in textile and apparel research, no empirical evidence can be found distinguishing univariate and multivariate relationships, which might be important to evaluate the validity of non-probability samples. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to empirically explore the validity (or lack of thereof) of non-representative sample for univariate and multivariate relationships using data gathered from two samples, a probability sample and a non-probability one.
