Abstract
Catalogs of type material greatly assist taxonomists n locating specimens needed for research. Such catalogs are available for many of the larger repositories, while the smaller museums, including many of the college and university collections, are often without such aids. In tbooe cues where there is no resident malacolopt it may be very difficult to ascertain what type material is held by the institution.
